Kitchen Tiling & Splashbacks in Tamworth

Splashbacks, feature walls and floors: cut clean around every socket, switch and unit, grouted sharp and sealed. The detail that finishes a kitchen off.

What's involved

Proper Kitchen tiling & splashbacks in Tamworth

01

Clean cuts around sockets

Switches, sockets and taps cut around precisely, no chipped edges or filled gaps.

02

Any style, set out right

Metro, brick-bond, herringbone, mosaic or large-format, planned so the pattern reads true across the run.

03

Worktop to wall units

Tiled neatly between worktop and units, with a clean edge top and bottom.

04

Grouted & sealed

Grouted in a colour that suits, and sealed so it wipes clean behind a busy hob and sink.

05

Galley kitchens

A light, glossy tile set out to keep the lines level makes a narrow Tamworth estate kitchen feel wider rather than closing it in.

06

Grout that copes with hard water

Behind a sink in a hard-water area, a darker or epoxy grout hides scale and stays looking clean far longer than white.

Kitchen tiling & splashbacks FAQs

How long does a kitchen splashback take?

Most splashbacks are a day, day and a half with grouting and drying. A full floor and splashback together takes a little longer.

Can you match tiles to my worktop and units?

Yes: bring a sample or a photo and we will help pick a tile and grout colour that works with your kitchen.

Can you tile behind the hob and cooker?

Yes: heat-suitable tiling behind hobs and cookers, cut and finished neat around the gap.

Which tile suits a small galley kitchen?

A pale, glossy tile, usually in a larger format than people expect. Fewer grout lines make the wall look calmer, and the gloss bounces light down a narrow room. Busy patterns tend to make a galley feel smaller.

Why has the grout behind my sink gone grey?

Hard water and washing-up splashes. Scale settles in the grout and holds the dirt. Resealing helps, and when the grout is replaced a darker or epoxy grout stays clean much longer.

Should the splashback go on before or after the worktop?

After. The worktop goes in first so the bottom row of tiles sits on the finished surface, and the splashback lines up with it rather than with a guess.

A kitchen splashback is small but unforgiving: it sits at eye level behind the worktop, framed by sockets and cabinets, so every cut and every grout line is on show. Metro, mosaic, brick-bond or large-format, we set it out so it looks deliberate, cut tight around the awkward bits, and seal it against the splashes.

Tamworth kitchens range from the galley kitchens on the older estates to open-plan rooms in the newer houses at Dosthill and Wilnecote. A galley needs a splashback that makes a narrow room feel lighter; an open-plan kitchen needs one that holds a long run of pattern true from end to end.
